Casa Bianca: interview with the architect

At the Casa Bianca villa, located on a beach near Ragusa, architecture, light, and the Mediterranean landscape come together in perfect harmony. We had the pleasure of interviewing architect Anna Polisano, the project’s designer, to learn about her philosophy, her design choices, and how the use of the Re-Play Concrete collection by Provenza helps enhance outdoor spaces while blending elegantly into the natural surroundings.

What is the philosophy that inspires your interior design projects?

My philosophy is based on the idea that every space should reflect the character of the people who live in it. In my projects, I blend tradition and modernity, seeking a balance between aesthetics and functionality, between the identity of the place and the personality of its inhabitants. I pay particular attention to the selection of materials, the use of light, and details: each space thus becomes a sensory experience that conveys emotions, roots, and vision.

What was the most exciting thing about this project?

The most exciting part was being able to transform light, materials, and the landscape to create a harmonious balance. Each space was designed to highlight the elegant simplicity of white, emphasising the contrasts with the surrounding nature and creating bright, contemporary settings that are deeply rooted in the local area. It was inspiring to see how materials, volumes, and light could come together to convey a clear and distinctive identity, resulting in a design that exudes elegance, character, and lightness.

What did you most appreciate about the Emilgroup materials?

I particularly appreciated the perfect balance between aesthetics and performance: tactile, refined surfaces with textures and colours that reflect contemporary trends without losing their authenticity. The technical quality and versatility of the materials make them ideal for designing unique and functional spaces that harmonise with the architecture and those who inhabit them.
