Warm and welcoming loft: Interview with the architect

01 febbraio 2024
Sophisticated details that make spaces unique and welcoming places: this is the ethos of architect Federica Ingegno, who carried out an industrial-style refurbishment of a loft adding a touch of Italian flair. We spoke to her to learn more about the project and her style
What is your interior design philosophy?
My interior design projects are above all an exercise in attention to detail.
Nothing is left to chance and every aspect of the project dialogues harmoniously with its setting. Most of all, every interior is a reflection of the inhabitant. It is a personal space, completely unique and based on a careful assessment and reinterpretation of the needs of the user.
What is the most interesting aspect of this project?
Certainly the particular nature of the building envelope inside of which we worked. Thanks to the very high ceilings and the presence of structurally essential pillars, which we decided to showcase rather than hide, we were able to recreate an environment reminiscent of the much-loved New York-style loft albeit located in the centre of a coastal town in southern Italy.
What impressed you most about Emilgroup?
Its wide variety of products and their innumerable qualities. Sophisticated products that break from convention.
Thanks to Emilgroup I have also become a fan of wood-effect stoneware for floors and other uses.
