Totalook: interview with the designer
Asi House is a project that embodies an exquisite blend of practicality and architectural poetry. The home, designed by Rasha Architects Studio led by architect Rasha Mansour Matar, is an anthem to calm, light and authenticity.
The Emilgroup Level Stone and Level Design collections help to define the understated, sophisticated style of the interiors, providing textures and visual depth without detracting from their simplicity.
We had the pleasure of talking to Rasha Mansour Matar to explore her vision and the creative process underlying this project.
I always start by meeting my clients, both in the office and at the project location itself. It’s fundamental for me to really get to know them: to find out who they are, what makes them happy and what their preferences are. This approach enables me to create spaces that reflect their identity, interiors that not only represent them but make them truly feel at home.
In the case of Asi House, I drew inspiration from the purity of simple lines and the authenticity of materials like wood and stone. I wanted to bring nature into the building, through textures that would create a rich yet also calm and rooted mood.
Definitely the conceptual phase. I love the initial step when we define the layout of the spaces and the structure that gives shape to the project. That’s when it all starts to come alive. However, the real magic occurs when we move on to the level of details: every choice, every finish contributes to the whole and the project evolves piece by piece. I’m always thrilled as I see a project grow.
Without a doubt, their quality. In my view, texture is as important as the visual aspect. I always seek out surfaces that have an authentic look that’s close to nature, and with Emilgroup I managed to create exactly what I’d imagined.
